Ajax has reached an agreement with Juventus and Diego Pugno regarding the loan signing of the twenty-year-old forward. The loan deal runs for one season and includes an option to buy for Ajax. Pugno will join the Jong Ajax squad with immediate effect.
Pugno was born on July 7, 2006, in Borgaro Torinese, Italy, and came through the youth academy at Juventus. He made his first-team debut on December 1, 2024, in the Serie A match against US Lecce. Since the summer of 2025, he has been part of Juventus Next Gen, which competes in Serie C.
His solo effort against NAC Breda was already being compared to Zlatan Ibrahimović’s famous goal against the same opponents in 2004.
