Rugani was born on July 29, 1994, in Lucca and has been a part of Juventus' first team since 2015. Since that time, he has been on loan spells to Empoli, Stade Rennes, and Cagliari. The seven-time Italian international has a contract at Juventus until mid-2026.

Technical director Alex Kroes: "With Rugani, we are bringing in a player who has years of experience in one of the top European leagues. He is an intelligent, tall defender who is strong in duels. His arrival provides an experience boost for our squad and relatively young defense. This way, the team will be more balanced."
