Patrick Kluivert, Frank and Ronald de Boer, Jari Litmanen and Richard Witschge, who all played for both clubs, have confirmed their participation. Wesley Sneijder, Edwin van der Sar, Siem de Jong and Jan Vertonghen will also take part. More players will be announced in the coming weeks.
Passing on the legacy
Cruijff shaped the DNA of both clubs, as a player and as a coach. In Amsterdam the stadium bears his name. In Barcelona, the Estadi Johan Cruyff stands at the club's training complex. Ten years after his death, a whole generation of players and coaches still play and teach the game by his ideas. Both clubs want to pass his legacy on to the next generation.
Johan Cruyff Foundation
Cruyff founded the Johan Cruyff Foundation himself in 1997, because he believed every child deserves the space to be active. The proceeds will help the Foundation build Cruyff Courts and sports projects around the world for children who would otherwise miss that opportunity.
