Ajax started the match brightly and created chances early on. Baas opened the scoring with a header after an assist from Rayane Bounida. Later in the first half, the defender struck again, once more set up by Bounida. In the second half Ajax created fewer opportunities, but defended their lead without major problems. Wout Weghorst made his return after injury.
