After a great win at Lille, Ajax is now focused on the Eredivisie. Round 15 takes place on Sunday, at FC Twente.
Labyad absent against Twente
The biggest questions prior to the game at FC Twente concern Hakim Ziyech and Zakaria Labyad’s availability. Ten Hag wasn’t able to give much information: “Zakaria will definitely not be able to play on Sunday. His knee needs to be examined, and as soon as we know more, we’ll inform you. Hakim didn’t train with the group on Thursday, we need to see how it goes in the next couple of days.”
The game follows up a successful duel in Lille. Ten Hag: ”We know what we need to do. I always say ‘enjoy the success for 24 hours, and then focus on the next opponent’.”
Good atmosphere
This has been going well during the European games. Ajax hasn’t squandered many points in the Eredivisie, either. After the midweek Champions League game, the balance is in the Amsterdam team’s favour. It was only aftr the first game that Ajax left 2 points on the table (1-1 at PSV); after that, convincing wins at ADO Den Haag (0-2), at home against Feyenoord (4-0) and at home against Utrecht (4-0).
'We know that it’s always tough at Twente, but we have to win'Ajax will hopefully extend its winning streak with a victory over Twente. It won’t be easy, says Ten Hag. “We know that it’s always tough at Twente, but he have to win. That stadium in famous for its nice surroundings and good atmosphere. It’s up to us to be prepared and ready for battle. It’s definitely going to be a battle."
