Ajax and CF Os Belenenses have reached an agreement for the direct transfer of Mateo Cassierra to the Portuguese club.  The Colombian forward came over from Deportivo Cali in 2016, and had been under contract at Ajax until June 30, 2021.

Cassierra has been loaned out to Racing Club in Argentina since January 31 of this year.  Initially, he was going to play the entire current season on a loan out basis.  Prior to his departure to Argentina, he had played for FC Groningen on a loan out basis for six months.

Cassierra (Barbacoas, April 13, 1997) made his debut for Ajax on July 26, 2017, in the home game against PAOK Saloniki (1-1).  He has played in a total of 34 official games for the first team, scoring five times.  In 2017-2018, Cassierra won the Jupiler League championship with the Ajax Reserves.
