On Friday, 18 September, Ajax and Jurriën Timber reached agreement on the extension of his contract, which ran until 30 June 2021. The new commitment of the 19-year old defender runs until mid 2024. A day later, it was announced that Carel Eiting will temporarily be leaving Ajax. He has been hired out to Huddersfield Town.

Timber (Utrecht, 17 June 2001) has played since 2014 in Ajax's youth academy. On 7 March 2020, he made his debut for the main team in the Heerenveen – Ajax (1-3) match. Up until now, the young international has played 2 official matches in the Ajax 1 team.

Eiting was born on 11 February 1998 in Amsterdam. The defending midfielder has been playing in Ajax's youth academy since 2007. On 26 October 2016, he made his debut in the first eleven in the KNVB Beker (Dutch cup), Kozakken Boys - Ajax (1-6). So far, he has competed for the main Ajax team in 31 official competitions.
