The Future Cup 2020 has been cancelled.  The prestigious youth tournament, which traditionally takes place during Easter weekend at the Toekomst sports complex, has been cancelled due to the ongoing corona virus crisis.

During the Future Cup, the Ajax U17 team plays against various international teams in the same age category.  During this edition, Juventus, FC Barcelona and PSG, among others, were meant to participate.  Earlier this week, it was announced that due to measures taken by the Dutch government, all Ajax matches have been cancelled until March 31st.  European matches, including the Youth League, will be postponed to a later date.

We're so sorry, fans... 😔#FutureCup

The Future Cup had been planned from Saturday, April 11th , until Monday, April 13th.  Although this time frame is outside the one affected by the government measures, the international nature of the event, as well as uncertainty about how the corona virus will develop, have prompted Ajax to make the decision to cancel the event.

The Future Cup will not be postponed to a later date.  The next edition will take place in 2021.
