Ajax and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp have reached an agreement for the extension of his contract, which had been effective until June 30, 2020. The midfielder’s new contract is retroactively effective per July 1, 2019, until June 30, 2022.
Ekkelenkamp (Zeist, April 5, 2000) has been playing in Ajax’s youth academy since the summer of 2013. He made his debut in Ajax’s first team on April 19, 2018, during the Ajax – VVV Venlo (4-1) game. The youth international, who mainly played with the Ajax Reserves last season, has played in 8 games to date with the first team, and has scored one goal. With the club’s reserves team, he has played in 23 games, in which he scored 5 times.
