Ajax has signed a contract with Giovanni Manson Ribeiro. The 18 year-old Brazilian player is coming from Santos FC. He’s signed a contract that runs from February 1, 2020, until June 30, 2024.
Manson Ribeiro, whose player name is Giovanni, was born on January 31, 2002, in Bauru, Brazil. The attacking midfielder will initially join the Ajax Reserves.
On February 25, Ajax announced that it had turned to FIFA in order to complete Giovanni’s transfer. The transfer was being blocked by Santos FC and the Brazilian football federation. FIFA has now informed the KNVB and Ajax that Giovanni can now be registered as a contracted player with Ajax, effective immediately.
