Ajax has reached an agreement with Ryan Babel and Galatasaray SK.  The forward will be loaned out from the Turkish club, where is is currently under contract, effective immediately.  The loan out agreement is effective until June 30, 2020.

Babel was born in Amsterdam on December 19, 1986.  The player attended Ajax’s youth academy between 1998 and 2004.  He made his debut in the first team on February 1, 2004, in the Ajax – ADO Den Haag game (4-0).

Babel moved to Liverpool FC in England during the summer of 2007.  Via the German team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (2011-2012), the Amsterdam native return to Ajax for one season during the summer of 2012.  After that, he has played for Kasimpasa (Turkey), Al Ain (UAE), Deportivo La Coruña (Spain), Besiktas (Turkey) en Fulham (England).  Babel has been playing for Galatasaray as of this season.

To date, the 63-time international has played in 133 official games in his two stints at Ajax, in which he has scored 29 goals.  With the club, he’s won two national championships (2003 – 2004 and 2012-2013), two KNVB Cups (2005-2006 and 2006-2007), and two Johan Cruijff Shields (2005 and 2006).
