Ajax and Cruzeiro Esporte Clube have reached an agreement for the transfer of Luis Orejuela to the Brazilian club. The Brazilian club has been loaning out the defender from Ajax since January 1, 2019. The agreement included an option to buy, which Cruzeiro has made use of. The final agreement is subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions. The Colombian defender had been under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2022.
Orejuela (Cali, August 20, 1995) came over from Deportivo Cali in the summer of 2017. He made his debut for Ajax on September 20, 2017, in the SVV Scheveningen – Ajax (1-5) Cup game.
He’s played in a total of 4 official games in Ajax’s first team. The right back played mostly with the Ajax Reserves, which whom he won the Jupiler League championship on April 28, 2018.
