Book Jari Litmanen's legendary years at Ajax
Jari Litmanen celebrated his greatest successes at Ajax, where he won everything there was to win in nine years.
Ajax kicked off its own 125th anniversary on November 17, 2024 with a match between the Ajax Legends and Real Madrid Legends. A sold-out Johan Cruijff ArenA saw a selection of top players from yesteryear, including many players who won the Champions League in 1995. The most popular were not the players who were born in Amsterdam or who had completed the youth academy, but a Finnish boy who came to Ajax at the age of 21 and slowly but surely won the fans' hearts: Jari Olavi Litmanen.
With Ajax, Litmanen won five national titles, three KNVB Cups, three Dutch Super Cups, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup in nine years (1992-1999 and 2002-2004). The attacking midfielder eventually played two hundred and fifty-two official matches for Ajax, scoring one hundred and thirty-two goals for the Amsterdam team.
In the anniversary year 2025 (125 years of Ajax, 750 years of Amsterdam and thirty years after Ajax won the Champions League), Jari Litmanen, together with his former trainers and teammates, looks back extensively on his successful period at the Amsterdam club in his Ajax biography. The following people have contributed to this biography: Louis van Gaal, Ronald Koeman, Frank Rijkaard, Patrick Kluivert, Frank and Ronald de Boer, Danny Blind,
