In a deluxe cassette, in large format (280 x360 mm), there are two yokels of books with a total of 10 kilos of content, containing the complete history of Ajax in 235 chapters, around 2,000 photos and all the figures and names from the founding year 1900 onwards in detailed seasonal overviews.
Never before has a publication about Ajax been so comprehensive. The history of Ajax is so comprehensive that it was decided to create not one, but two books, each 800 pages thick, and to slip these two volumes into a beautiful storage cassette.
With a total of 1600 pages, the true Ajax fan can dispose of the complete history of the club. All the almost 900 players of Ajax 1 come by, the trainers and leading directors too, of course. All more than 4,000 official matches, almost all line-ups - all this is immortalised in the books. From the start of professional football in 1954, the info even goes so far as to include the line-ups of opponents in the match info from match to match.
Read who Jan de Natris was in these encyclopaedic books. Or Wim Anderiesen senior and junior. Know how important the first real coach Jack Reynolds was. Go back with us to the time of the young footballer Rinus Michels. Read about goalgetters Cees and Henk Groot. Follow the impressive career of Sjaak Swart, the man who was there soon after the beginning of professional football and who also lived through the time of the European Cups won in the 1970s. Experience once more the greatness of Piet Keizer, see the unforgettable Johan Neeskens. And, of course, dozens of pages and large numbers of photos show the greatest of all, Johan Cruijff, in all phases of his too-short life. Relive the almost thought impossible achievements under Louis van Gaal and Erik ten Hag. And see again how great players Frank Rijkaard, Marco van Basten and Dennis Bergkamp were. But also enjoy Frenkie de Jong again. Of Dusan Tadic. Dwell on the grief for Abdelhak Nouri. Read about the women of Ajax, with stars such as Daphne Koster, Desiree van Lunteren, Liza van der Most and Sherida Spitse.
Within Ajax, this book project receives the warm support of the Supporters' Association Ajax, of Ajax Heritage and also of the Ajax Foundation, which gives substance to Ajax's corporate social responsibility in Amsterdam. From the proceeds of the books, a substantial amount will be donated to the Ajax Foundation!
