Ajax pulled off a major victory in the battle for fifth place on Sunday. The Ajax players emerged victorious despite falling behind at half time. Brian Brobbey headed in the equaliser after 59 minutes, followed by Steven Bergwijn scoring the winning goal from a penalty in the 81st minute.
Sunday saw Ajax chalk up their thirteenth league cup win of the season. John van 't Schip's team beat third-place FC Twente 2-1 at home in the Johan Cruyff ArenA. Ajax were losing at half time, but then they got their act together. The goals came courtesy of Brian Brobbey and Steven Bergwijn.
Brian Brobbey appeared to be in good spirits for the press after beating FC Twente. The Ajax striker returned to the match squad on Sunday and immediately earned his place by scoring a goal. "It was a great header, I reckon. I told Kenneth to aim the ball at the far post, and he did. He listened carefully, he always does. I listen to him, too."
