Ajax are heading into the final stretch of the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie. Four matches remain on the schedule. The final phase of the competition begins on Saturday 25 April with an away match against NAC. As the cup final is scheduled for this weekend, Ajax will therefore play a friendly against FC Twente on Thursday. A day earlier, Ajax trained at De Toekomst to be fully prepared for this practice match.

Renee van Asten made her debut for the Dutch national team with a goal against France on Tuesday evening. A few years ago, the defender found herself at a crossroads that few people ever encounter in their lives: a contract with Ajax on one side, and a unique opportunity to study and play football at Harvard University in the United States on the other. Van Asten reflects on her life at Ajax, the impact of injury setbacks, combining elite sport with academic study, and why she ultimately chose to follow her instincts wholeheartedly.

With three goals and a clean sheet, Ajax returned from Almelo on Saturday evening with three points in the bag. The clash with Heracles unfolded smoothly for the Amsterdam side and saw Steven Berghuis shine with two goals. In his slipstream, Lucas Rosa played a perhaps less obvious but very positive role. In this edition of Ajax Insights, we take a closer look at his statistics. Ajax Insights is developed by Team Rockstars IT.
