Ajax suffered an excruciating defeat Sunday afternoon when they visited FC Twente. The Ajax team lost 3-1 in Enschede. Brian Brobbey scored the only goal for the Amsterdam side at the De Grolsch Veste stadium.

Ajax got off to a weak start in the match in Enschede. Maurice Steijn's team had already fallen 2-0 behind within the first fifteen minutes. Daan Rots scored the first goal of the match, after Jay Gorter failed to deal properly with a shot from Vlap. Sem Steijn doubled the lead for the host team three minutes later.

Brobbey gets another
As the first half went on, Ajax came back into the match. Borna Sosa, who saw his first action on the field for the main Amsterdam squad Sunday, sent a great cross over to Brobbey. The Ajax striker then came face to face with his marker, tapping the ball behind Lars Unnerstall: 2-1.

The Ajax team failed to produce another goal in the second half. FC Twente brought the home crowd to their feet once again. Naci Ünüvar, on loan from Ajax, put the final score up on the board more than ten minutes before the final whistle: 3-1.
