Van den Boomen received the ball on the edge of the penalty box. The Ajax player shot and saw the ball end up in the net behind Benítez via the inside of the post: 0-1.

Good combination
Ten minutes later, the home team scored the equaliser via Lozano. The Mexican got past Diant Ramaj. Despite the goal, Ajax led at the end of the first half. Right before half-time, Brobbey scored the 1-2 after a good combination with Steven Bergwijn.

Things took a turn for the worse in the second half. PSV returned from the dressing room stronger, and Luuk de Jong equalised: 2-2. Goals scored by Saibari and Lozano (2) determined the final score in Eindhoven: 5-2.
