The official web site of FC Nürnberg announces that Tomás Galásek has sigend a two-year deal with the German club. Nürnberg finished in 8th place in the Bundesliga this season. The club has won 9 German championships, the last one coming in 1968.
Tomás Galásek played for Ajax from 22 August 2000, when he made his debut against Fortuna Sittard. He played 202 official matches for Ajax. His last match was the Cup final against PSV, which he could not finish because of a red card.
Hans Meyer, previously coach at FC Twente and from the start of this season the coach at Nürnberg, is happy with the signing of the 33-year-old Czech midfielder. ,,With his vast (international) experience, Galásek can take our young team under his wing'', said the coach on the club's official web site. ,,I have followed him for about ten years and I am happy with him.''
