Ajax and Sydney FC have signed a three-year partnership today. The Australian top side intends to improve their youth academy with support from Ajax.
Development and scouting
Ajax will offer Sydney FC support in areas such as organisation of the academy and the development of coaches. The specially founded Ajax Coaching Academy (ACA) will organize clinics and seminars in several Australian cities. This gives the best players and coaches the opportunity to earn trials at Sydney FC. Ajax have the opportunity to bring talented players and coaches to Amsterdam via this route.
The club strives to initiate similar partnerships on multiple continents. Sydney FC and Ajax are engaging in a Consultancy Program. Ajax will provide Sydney FC with consultancy on the development of players and the organisation via the ACA multiple times a year.
This is the third collaboration for the Ajax, after earlier announced partnerships with Guangzhou R&F FC and Sagantosu. Ajax has developed an online platform dedicated to these collaborations: www.ajaxcoachingacademy.com.
Han Berger, Technical Director Sydney FC: ,,Sydney FC’s Academy is rapidly becoming recognised as the leading youth academy in Australia and this alignment with Ajax, who are renown for having the world’s foremost youth development strategy, will further strengthen our program. To have access to the knowledge and expertise of Holland’s biggest club, and to be able to bring that to Australia will provide a huge benefit to Sydney FC and football across the country.”
