Jussi Kujala made the transition from the Ajax juniors to the second team this year. Gabriel Mofokeng was part of last season's success story in the Amstel Cup with Ajax 2. The Finn and the South African hope to play good matches.
Where will you be at Christmas and/or New Year’s Eve?
Mofokeng: ,,I am going home, to South-Africa. I am from Johannesburg. When I get home, I am going to help my mother cook, and make the house look pretty. And I’ll have fun and enjoy the fact that I am home again. I’ll celebrate Christmas and the New Year first with my mother and then I go partying with my friends.’’
Kujala: ,,I’ll be with my family in Tampere, Finland. They are already waiting for me. There will be good food, presents and a sauna. And for the last ten years we have always held an ice hockey tournament with friends from the neighbourhood.’’
What was the most important of the past year?
Mofokeng: ,,Our success in the Amstel Cup and the championship with Ajax 2.’’
Kujala: ,,Winning the championship with the Juniors.’’
Looking back on 2002?
Mofokeng: ,,It has been a pretty good year for me. I only did not enjoy the last part, because I was injured.’’
Kujala: ,,The second half of the year, with Ajax 2, I really enjoyed. And Holland feels like home more and more. I am getting used to it here.’’
Expectations for 2003?
Mofokeng: ,,I hope that everything will keep going better and that I remain free of injuries. I am looking forward to the cup match against Excelsior. It is interesting to see how Ajax 1 do there, we can learn from that.’’
Kujala: ,,I want to play many good matches, and score some goals now. And good health is important.’’
With whom would you like to drink champagne?
Mofokeng: ,,With my dream girl.’’
Kujala: ,,I can name anybody I want? Then I’ll say Catherine Zeta-Jones.’’
