Egyptian striker Mido will stay in his home land until early April. Ajax's technical director Leo Beenhakker denies that a loan transfer to Spanish side Celta de Vigo has been ruled out. ,,We haven't received word from FIFA or the Dutch Football Association, so it is too soon to say that the deal won't go through", Beenhakker said.
Mido was removed from the squad after the Champions League match against Arsenal. Just before that game he was called back in the team. But statement to the media angered coach Ronald Koeman and after a meeting with Beenhakker it was decided that the forward would be left out of the squad for the remainder of the season.
The Egyptian striker was given a week to rest in his home country. He reported back in Holland earlier this week and met with Beenhakker this Friday. Beenhakker: ,,Mido will go in training camp with the Egyptian national team, who play on March 19 and 29. Then he will attend the election of the African footballer of the year, for which he is nominated, on April 1. In the mean time we will see how the situation is with Celta de Vigo and after that we will try to find a solution for the problem together. Training with the second team is not an option, however. I cannot expand on the reason for that."
