Kenneth Perez (31) has decided to no longer make himself available for the national team of Denmark. For the Ajax forward this ends his three-year career as a Danish international player.
As the main reason for his decision to end his Denmark career, the forward chooses to direct all his energy, strength and attention to his new club Ajax. Perez also cites his reduced perspective on a starting position in the national squad, due to the selection policy of the Denmark coach.
Kenneth Perez made his debut in the Danish national team in November of 2003 in a match against England. He earned his last cap in a friendly against France, in May of 2006. Perez played 19 matches for Denmark.
Perez: ,,I look back with great fondness and pride on the matches I got to play for Denmark. But this is the best time for me to end it. Young talent can now get a chance to make the squad and I can devote myself fully to Ajax. I wish the coach and the players very much success qualifying for Euro 2008 and I thank them for the excellent collaboration.”
