Klaas Jan Huntelaar isn’t completely fit for the the FC Twente game. This is what Marcel Keizer announced during Friday’s weekly press gathering. The striker completed a full training in the morning, unlike Amin Younes and Nick Viergever.
‘He can substitute’
“Huntelaar is only available for part of FC Twente – Ajax”, said Keizer. A reporter asked the coach to clarify. His answer was unequivocal: “He can substitute.”
Huntelaar missed the game against Roda JC due to a calf injury. On Wednesday, the striker trained again for the first time: he worked individually on his recovery. On Friday morning, Huntelaar completed the entire training, but the centre forward isn’t yet fit enough to play 90 minutes.
Kasper Dolberg thus seems assured of a starting spot. Keizer expressed his satisfaction with the young player. “He’s very steady on the ball and can be threatening when he’s in deep. We especially saw this in the second half of the Roda JC game. I though he was timid in the first half.”
When asked whether Dolberg is feeling good, the coach answered affirmatively: “I think he’s feeling pretty good right now.”
