Following the shareholders’ meeting from June 18, 2012, Ajax CT is pleased to announce that John Comitis has been named honorary chairman of Ajax CT.
The original appointment took place 12 months ago by the then-CEO of AFC Ajax Amsterdam, Mr Rik van den Boog. During the period that followed, several challenges occurred during the procedures, and Mr Comitis’ appointment was finalized during the last shareholders’ meeting. This appointment to Honorary chairman is a testament to Mr Comitis’ achievements, among which his on-going involvement and the professional development of the club since its foundation.
Moreover, an independent investigation, requested by Ajax CT, has found that Ajax CT has no reason to ask for the return of a R3,5 million commission, paid to Mr Comitis by the PSL, for attracting sponsors. The report states that Mr Comitis committed no abuse of power by accepting sponsor commissions, and that there was no occurrence of misappropriation.
Ajax CT shareholders have confirmed that this issue is closed and that no further legal procedures would be undertaken against Mr Comitis.
