Interesting mix of football styles on Amsterdam Tournament

Acoording to tradition, in the last weekend of of July The Amsterdam Tournament will take place in the Amsterdam ArenA, organised by The International Event Partnership (IEP). The playing field this year consists of top teams Arsenal FC, FC Porto, CA Boca Juniors and AFC Ajax. The matches will be played on Friday 29 July and Sunday 31 July.

For both Porto and Boca Juniors, it is the first time they take part in the Amsterdam Tournament, while Arsenal make their third appearance.

Porto and Ajax are still fighting for a place in the Champions League, while Arsenal have already qualified. Argentinian side Boca Juniors, Diego Maradona's former club, play in the top of the league in Argentina and are still active in the 'Copa Libertadores'. The South Americans get special permission of the Argentinian FA to take part in the Amsterdam Tournament during their winter.

The tournament will be organised for the seventh successive time by IEP, which ahs again been able to assemble a great playing field from renowned football countries.

As alway, The Amsterdam Tournament has an alternative points system, in which extra points are given for goals scored and a losing team on the first day can still win the event. What also has not changed, are the low ticket prices: the cheapest tickets for an evening are € 27,- for which the fan can see two top-level matches.

2045 hrs AFC Ajax – CA Boca Juniors

Ticket sales start on 21 May at Ticketbox stores. Tickets can be purchased without a Club Card from 11 June and through the Internet on
