Ajax and Eyong Enoh have reached an agreement concerning his contract, which was effective until June 30, 2012. The new deal goes into effect retroactively, per July 1, 2010, and runs until June 30, 2015.
By signing the new contract, General Manager Rik van den Boog praised the Cameroonian midfielder. “We’re very pleased and proud that you’re staying with us. You’ve more than earned it. You are an example for everybody, both on and off the field.”
Enoh is happy with the extended relationship. “Not only is this good for my career, but I also feel at home here, like with family. I’m very pleased.”
Enoh, born on March 23, 1986 in Cameroon, played for Ajax Cape town before coming to Amsterdam. He played a total of 31 matches for Ajax’s daughter team in South Africa. The midfielder made his competition debut for Ajax on September 21, 2008, in the Feyenoord – Ajax game (2-2). Until now, he’s played 91 matches in Ajax’s first team, scoring 4 goals. He won the KNVB Cup with Ajax in 2010.
Enoh made his debut with the Cameroon national team on June 7, 2009, and he was also active in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Enoh has played 12 interland matches so far.
