Joey Didulica will move from Amsterdam to Vienna in the summer. The 25 year-old goalkeeper's contract with Ajax expires after the season. Didulica signs for three years with Austria Wien.
After a phone call with his agent, Didulica officially announced the deal on Friday. The Australian was happy: ,,The negotiations are finally over. I'm looking forward to playing three more years in Europe and to settle and play football in Vienna."
According to the goalkeeper Austria Wien is a club with ambition. ,,The club has a rich history and a great bank account at the moment. They want to be successful in Europe and particularly in the Champions League in the coming years. They're very serious. Last year they hired Daum, a coach that has been successful with several clubs. I hope to be part of something glorious."
Didulica has been part of Ajax since September 1999. Especially in the Champions League match in and against Valencia he took the opportunity to show the footballing world his goalkeeping skills. Of course, he's going to miss the club from Amsterdam. ,,Ajax has been my life for the past four years. I have grown as a player, but also as a person. Wil Coort, the goalkeepers' trainer, and Ronald Koeman are great trainers and they have taught me a lot. But now I will have to learn German", he smiled.
