The Special General Shareholders Meeting took place on Monday at de Toekomst Sports Complex. During this meeting, Danny Blind was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of AFC Ajax NV.
This appointment was formalized per April 23, 2018, and is valid for a period of 3,5 years, until the General Shareholders Meeting in 2021.
Danny Blind was nominated as Theo van Duivenbode’s successor on March 12. In addition to Blind, Ajax’s Supervisory Board consists of Leo van Wijk (chairman), Ernst Ligthart, Leen Meijaard and Peter Mensing.
‘Develop players and recruit them through thorough scouting’
Blind: “It’s good to be back and working with the club again in a very involved way. Moreover, it’s a great challenge. I hope to add value to the Supervisory board in the technical football area in a supervisory and advisory capacity. I can’t discuss my exact plans yet, I would like to first talk about them with my fellow Board members. But I have a clear vision and it’s quite simple: we develop players, and we also recruit players through scouting. Being Ajax, we want to entertain the spectators and achieve good results.”
