Starting next season, a few changes will take place in Ajax 1’s technical staff.
At the end of the season, assistant coach Alfred Schreuder will leave for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where he will become head coach. Schreuder (Barneveld, November 2, 1972) had been under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2020. At the start of 2018, the trainer came over from the same club he will return to at the end of this season.
Marc Overmars, Director of Football Affairs: “Alfred has already worked in the Bundesliga and can become head coach this summer. He very much wants to do this, and we will not stand in his way.”
Christian Poulsen will join the A-selections’ technical staff next season as assistant coach. The Dane will sign a contract for 2 years, from July 1, 2019, until June 30, 2021. Poulsen (Asnæs, February 28, 1980) earned his UEFA A-diploma last year, and has been doing an internship with the first team’s technical staff since last September.
