The Amsterdam ArenA was the setting for photographs on Tuesday, instead of playing football for the Ajax players. The players from both the A selection and the up and coming talents from the Ajax Reserves presented – among other things, on the selection photo – the newest home and away kits. The Ajax selection looked sharp on the eve of the start of the 2014-2015 season.
Frank de Boer’s Ajax players will begin the new season with the new jerseys from adidas and head sponsor Aegon. The away kit has a new feature this season. Instead of Aegon, which will only adorn the jerseys for the first half of the season, the away jersey will bear the name of the Fonds Gehandicapten (Disabled Fund) for the away games. The selection posed with special ‘guests’ for a unique edition of the selection in away colours.
A few days after the match for the Johan Cruijff Trophy (ArenA against PEC Zwolle), De Boer can look forward to reuniting his complete group to prepare for the start of the new Eredivisie season, among others. After national champion Ajax starts its Eredivisie season against Vitesse, the Ajax Reserves, under the leadership of coaches Andries Ulderink and Jaap Stam, start in the Jupiler League. The Ajax Reserves will also sport the new jerseys against their rivals.
