Ajax and Racing Club have reached an agreement for the loan out of Mateo Cassierra to the Argentinian club. The deal takes effect immediately and is valid until June 30, 2020. An option for the Argentinian club to buy has been included in the contract. The Colombian forward is under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2121.
Cassierra returned to Ajax during this past winter break. The striker had originally been loaned out to FC Groningen for the entire 2018-2019 season, but all parties agreed for Cassierra to return sooner.
Cassierra (Barbacoas, April 13 1997) came over from Deportivo Cali to Ajax in 2016. The Colombian made his debut for Ajax on July 26, 2016 in the home game against PAOK Saloniki (1-1). He has played in a total of 34 official games to date for the first team, scoring 5 times.
Championship with Ajax Reserves
Last season, Cassierra mainly played with the Ajax Reserves, winning the Jupiler League championship on April 28, with 18 goals, he was the top scorer for the reserves team.
