Ajax and Go Ahead Eagles have reached an agreement for the loan out of Lesly de Sa. The deal is effective immediately, until June 30, 2015. The forward is still under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2016. De Sa was born on April 2, 1993, in Woerden. The player made his debut with the first team on September 21, 2011, in the vv Noordwijk – Ajax (1-3) cup match. He has played in 20 official matches to date in Ajax’s first team, scoring two goals.
Frank de Boer: “Lesly is 21 years old and it’s important that he plays games. The competition within Ajax is very strong. We told him last week that he would be better off if we loaned him out to a club where he has a better chance at getting more playing time. It’s now up to Lesly to develop himself in Deventer and return to Ajax a better player.”
Because of De Sa’s loan out and Anwar El Ghazi’s strong performance during the pre-season, El Ghazi now joins the first team. De Boer: “We told Anwar yesterday that he’s now part of the A-selection. He was thrilled to have reached that goal already. But he also realized that this is just the beginning. We’ve known at Ajax for a while that he’s a fantastic player with a lot of potential. But in the past few weeks of training and friendly matches, he’s really been knocking on the door. It’s going fast with him because he’s done that himself.”
El Ghazi scored six times for Ajax during the pre-season. The 19 year old forward scored a hat trick during his unofficial debut against SDC Putten. He also scored two goals against SV Hönnepel and one against Real Sociedad.
