Ajax lands safely in Washington

Ajax has arrived in the U.S. (3p.m. local time) on Thursday evening. After an eight hour flight, Frank de Boer’s team landed at Washington DC’s Dulles airport. The 18-man selection will play a practice match against DC United on Sunday.

The Ajax players boarded a 12.30p.m. flight to Washington DC. The flight landed at approximately 3p.m. local time. The time difference was felt, as the Dutch champion’s biorhythm was already a half day later. But the sunny weather in Washington DC made up for any discomfort.

They will likely be in the full swing of things in the U.S. by Friday, when their first practice on American soil is scheduled. Later that day, five players and the technical staff will lead a clinic in the RFK Stadium.
