Ajax have reached agreement with ABN AMRO about the extension of the sponsorship contract. The contract, which runs to 2005, will be extended up to and including the 2010-2011 season. ABN AMRO has been a sponsor of Ajax since 1989. The name ABN AMRO has been on the Ajax shirt since 1991. From that year the ABN AMRO bank has been the head sponsor of the current league champions.
The biggest bank in the Netherlands and the country's most successful football club have been partners for fifteen years and another seven years are added to that. The new contract was signed today.
Managing director of Ajax Arie van Eijden, who unfortunately could not be present as he is hospitalised with a leg infection, is extremely pleased with the new agreement: ,,We are very happy with this contract.
