The Ajax Academy has been nominated for the Rinus Michels Award, the award for the best football academy of Holland. Along with Ajax, Feyenoord and Willem II/RKC are also in the running for the award which is named after the former Ajax manager.
The winner will be announced on 28 May, during the Dutch Managers Conference in the Koning Willem II Stadium in Tilburg. ,,We invest a lot in our youth and are continuously progressing and developing new ideas’’, Jan Olde Riekerink, the head of the Ajax Academy, says. ,,I am very proud of this nomination.’’
Ajax has won the Rinus Michels Award three times before: in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The prize was first awarded in 2004. The Ajax Academy was nominated last season as well, but unfortunately it was not the 2010 winner
