Peter Bosz has mixed feelings about the fact that the upcoming NEC-Ajax game will take place on Saturday. The coach feels that it’s an advantage that competitor Feyenoord will come into action later than Ajax, but thinks that the duel in the Goffert comes too soon after the match against AZ.
“It’s new, we haven’t experienced this before”, says Bosz. “Almost every week, we’ve been in the position of being at the tail end. Even when we’ve played on Sunday, Feyenoord always started earlier. In that respect, it’s nice that we’re playing on Saturday, and Feyenoord on Sunday.”
This doesn’t mean that Bosz is pleased with Ajax’s start time in Nijmegen. “No, because there are only two days between the matches. Scientific research has shown that this is not enough time to recover. I’ve said this often enough and will leave it at that, as I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining. But in this situation, I would have preferred to play on Sunday.”
