Ajax and Vince Gino Dekker have agreed to extend his contract that had been effecive until June 30, 2017. The new agreement starts on July 1, 2017, until June 30, 2018.
Dekker was born on March 22, 1997, in Harderwijk. The forward has been playing in Ajax’s youth academy since the age of six. On August 12, 2016, he made his debut in professional football during the Almere City – Ajax Reserves (1-4) Jupiler League game. The winger underwent an operation to his left knee in November 2016, and spent the rest of the season recovering. Dekker has played in 11 official games to date with the Ajax Reserves, scoring three times.
Dekker is happy to receive the club’s trust. “It feels good that I’ve been able to extend my contract. Unfortunately, I’m not completely fit yet, but my rehabilitation is going well. I’m hoping to join the group as soon as possible so that I can build up some match rhythm, and can be of value to the team.”
