Peter Bosz was very disappointed with Ajax’s performance at Excelsior (1-1), but refuses to give up on the race for the title. When asked if he thinks it will still be possible to catch up to Feyenoord, the coach was positive. “Definitely. Feyenoord is coming to the ArenA in two weeks. Crazier things have happened in this competition.”
Bosz was clear when discussing the match at Woudestein. “There are no excuses for this. We needed to win, and we didn’t. We didn’t deserve to win here. We were drawn into duels a lot, and that’s not our strength.”
Bosz was asked if it discourages him that Feyenoord continues to win. “No”, was his reaction. “I think it’s pretty impressive of them.” And then, with a combative closing statement: “Ask me that question about being discouraged in two weeks.” Feyenoord will be nursing a six-point lead throughout the last seven games, as well as a better goal balance than Ajax.
