Ajax and SSC Napoli have reached an agreement for the transfer of Arek Milik. The move to the Italian club is effective immediately. A transfer sum of 32 million euro is estimated for this deal, and may even be 33 million euro. The forward had been under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2019.
Milik was born on February 28, 1994, in Tychy, Poland. He made his debut in the first team on August 3, 2014, during the PEC Zwolle – Ajax (1-0) match for the Johan Cruijff Shield. To date, Milik has played in 76 official matches for Ajax, scoring 47 goals.
Football affairs director Marc Overmars: “Arek has been fantastic, and his scoring percentage says it all. Compliments to our scouting department that he came onto our radar. We wanted to keep him at the club but once we had agreed that Arek wouldn´t leave this summer, a totally different sum was offered. Naples really wanted him, and eventually, a financial tipping point was reached. Also, Arek wanted to go to Naples. The transfer window is open for one more month, and that gives us the opportunity to seek a good replacement for him.”
