AFC Ajax and FC Groningen have reached agreement about the immediate transfer of Bruno Silva to Ajax. The defender from Uruguay signs a contract for four and a half years in Amsterdam.

Silva (born 29-03-1980) had played this seasons the the two seasons prior for FC Groningen. He played 83 official matches for the northern club. Before that the played for Danubio in Uruguay from 2000 to 2005. In 2004 he played for Russian team FK Rostov for a short period. Silva has earned three caps for Uruguay.
