Ajax have reneqwed and extended the contract with Jan Vertonghen. The new agreement with the 19-year old Belgian runs from 1 July 2007 to 1 July 2011.

Vertonghen came from Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen to Ajax's youth academy two years ago. After having played for the B-juniors and the A1 squad, the left-footed defender/midfielder played for Young Ajax last season. Vertonghen has been part of the first team from the start of this season.
Jan Vertonghen has played six matches in the first team of Ajax. Three of those were league matches.
With Ajax Travel & Events, Ajax has it’s very own travel and event organisation and is specialized in organizing official hospitality packages to home games of AFC Ajax.
