Theo van Duivenbode resigns from Board

After spending five years on the Supervisory Board of AFC Ajax NV, Theo van Duivenbode has decided to resign from his position as a commissioner on the board, effective immediately.

Van Duivenbode (Amsterdam, November 1, 1943) was named to the board on June 14, 2012, during a Special General Shareholders Meeting.

Supervisory Board Chairman Leo van Wijk: “Mr. Van Duivenbode cannot sufficiently identify with to the way in which we, the Supervisory Board and Management, have been proceeding with Ajax’s technical and business interests.  For that reason, he has decided to resign.  We regret this decision, but respect his wishes.  On behalf of the remaining Supervisory Board members, I would like to thank him for his contributions.  Fortunately, he will remain active with the club, partly due to his role as chairman of Lucky Ajax.  We will be seeking  to present a new candidate as soon as possible to fill this vacant position.”
