Sneijder guides Holland to Euro 2004

Wesley Sneijder was Holland's driving force in the 6-0 victory against Scotland. The Dutch national team, with Sneijder and Ajax teammate Rafael van der Vaart in the starting line-up, more than made up for the 1-0 loss in Scotland on Saturday and qualified for Euro 2004 in Portugal.

Wesley Sneijder, who was not in the squad on Saturday, led a rejuvenated Holland past the Scots. The young midfielder scored the first goal and with two sublime free kicks set up first Andre Ooijer and then Ruud van Nistelrooy for Holland's second and third goal.

In the second half van der Vaart touched it through to Van Nistelrooy who made it 4-0. Sneijder's corner was headed in by substitute Frank de Boer (5-0) and van Nistelrooy scored his third from an assist by Andy van der Meyde: 6-0.
