Sneijder and Van der Vaart picked for play-offs

Holland's coach Dick Advocaat has again selected Ajax players Rafael van der Vaart and Wesley Sneijder for the national team. The two young midfielders will prepare with Holland for the two play-off matches for Euro 2004 against Scotland, on 15 November in Glasgow and 19 November in Amsterdam. Elsewhere, Maxwell received his first-ever invitation for a national team of Brazil.

Advocaat has also recalled former Ajax player Clarence Seedorf in the squad. Mark van Bommel will miss the matches, the midfielder from PSV has a groin injury. Edgar Davids replaces Arjen Robben. Ruud van Nistelrooy is back after a disciplinary suspension by Advocaat.

Ajax's Brazilian defender Maxwell has been invited to a test stage of the Olympic team of Brazil. It is the first time he was invited to play for his country. Brazil Under 23 will have a camp from 10 through 19 November. The qualifying matches for Athens 2004 will start in January.
