Sigthórsson won’t report for duty with Iceland

Kolbeinn Sigthórsson will not report for duty with the Icelandic national team. The forward sustained an injury to his ankle during the competition match against Fc Groningen. Further examination in the coming days will tell how serious the injury is.

Sigthórsson and his national team have not qualified for the 2012 European Championship. On Friday, October 7, Iceland, who has four points in seven matches, will play a qualification match against Portugal, who, together with Norway and Denmark is in the lead in group H with thirteen points.

Thulani Serero has travelled to South Africa for his national team’s match against Sierra Leone. South Africa plays on October 8.
Nicolas Lodeiro is not part of Uruguay’s definite selection. The Ajax player was on the pre-selection list.
