Siem de Jong returns to Ajax

Ajax has reached an agreement with Siem de Jong and Newcastle United for the player’s transfer to Amsterdam.  In Amsterdam, he has signed a contract for three seasons, until June 30, 2020.

De Jong was born on January 28, 1989, in Aigle, Switzerland. The attacking midfielder played with Ajax from 2005 to 2014.  He made his debut on the first team on September 26, 2007, during the Kozakken Boys – Ajax (1-2) KNVB Cup game.

At that time, De Jong played in 244 official games in Ajax’s first team, and scored 78 goals.  With the club, he won the KNVB Cup in 2010, and four national championships (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).  In 2013, he also won the Johan Cruijff Shield.  De Jong played 21 games with Newcastle Unitled, and scored one goal.  He was loaned out to PSV last season.
