Ajax and Sheraldo Becker have reached an agreement to extend his contract, which had been effective until June 30 2014. The new, improved contract is retroactively effective per July 1 2014, until June 30 2017.
Becker was born on February 9 1995 in Amsterdam. The forward has been playing in the youth academy since 2004. The youth international played 14 official matches with the Ajax Reserves last season, scoring once.
Sheraldo Becker has been playing at Ajax for eleven seasons and is signing his second contract with the club. “Just as I was three years ago with my first contract, I’m very happy now. This is truly a reward for me. Now I need to show that I’m the best with the Ajax Reserves, and let me feet do the talking.”
Director of football affairs Marc Overmars is pleased that the forward hasn’t taken up on any interest from abroad, and want to stay with Ajax: “Sheraldo has a quality that is rare among the reserves selection. He has pure speed. Now he needs to build on this weapon, become better, and then we will be able to enjoy him a lot.”
