Seven goals for Ajax in first friendly game

Ajax has won its first friendly game of the new season by a big margin.  After a 0-5 halftime score, Erik ten Hag’s team scored two more to end up at 0-7 during this visit to the VVSB amateurs.  The goals were scored by TeunBijleveld (2) Kaj Sierhuis (2), Dani de Wit, Klaas Jan Huntelaar ans Hassane Bandé.

Zakaria Labyad made his unofficial debut for Ajax in Noordwijkerhout, while Bandé scored his first goal as an Ajacied.  The latter had some playing time for Ajax in May during the Dubai training camp.  The same goes for Ajax’s third acquisition on the field today, Perr Schuurs.  Moreover, several young players made their first appearance with Ajax 1.

Training camp
This practice match at Boekhorst sport park marked the end to Ajax’s first week of training.  Next week, the Ajacieds will be at training camp in Germany.

Ajax visited Noordwijkerhout 11 years ago with coach Martin Jol.  At that time, the score reached 0-4.  This time, the score was higher, although the visitors struggled somewhat in the beginning.  After a flat first fifteen minutes without any opportunities, Ajax shifted to higher gear.  This led to 4 goals in 12 minutes, 2 scored by Bijleveld.

Sierhuis strikes
It was then Sierhuis, on a pass from Labyad, who scored the 0-3 goal, and then the 0-5 goal right before halftime.  In between, De Wit had scored Ajax’s 4th goal from a corner.

After halftime, a completely new Ajax team came onto the field, and the first goal came sooner.  Huntelaar scored the 0-6 goal from nearby in the 52nd minute.

After this, it took some time for another goal to come.  Bandé scored the final goal into the near corner shortly before the end: 0-7.
