Setback for Litmanen

Jari Litmanen suffered another setback when he injured his ankle during training with the reserves on Tuesday.

Litmanen spent months on the sideline with a calf injury. In the past two weeks he was working on his comeback and had joined the group training with the first team. Wednesday, however, he was walking with crutches. ,,I was training with the reserves and tried to block a shot'', said the Ajax captain. ,,My ankle twisted. I went to the hospital for X-rays. We don't know the exact nature of the injury, but there is something not right.''

Hospital tests later confirmed that the captain will be out for a month to six weeks.
